The View from Yuggoth

This fantasic image shows is called "The View from Yuggoth".  Its for the cover for an upcoming book.  This pic is at the same time understated and enticing, which I think is the real draw of the mythos itself.

Spotted this on deviant Arts.  Yig, the father of all serpents apparently has a feathered ruff.  Now that's original.

Othuyegga the Doom-Walker

To quote the page I'm linking to... "Othuyegga is similar to the Great Old One Cyaegha, but the relationship between these two entities is unclear." It's a nice piece of art from another of the deviants on the deviant art site.

Hmmm... not convinced

Here's what looks like a CGI attempt at Nyarlathotep.  I'm not convinced they got his best side.  Mind you, with that many faces, lining up his best side might be difficult.

Stand Up Shub!

Prodigy Duck has posted a rather nice illustration of the dark young of Shub-Niggurath.  it's in the form of a fold together "standee", perhaps good for a role playing session.

Wonder what Dagon looks like?

Here's a pretty nice rendering of Dagon. I'm not sure Dagon had a really good description in Lovecraft's texts so this gives a pretty free hand to artists.

Nyarlathotep at Dusk

Here's a interesting oil painting simply called "Nyarlathotep at Dusk".  It's an interesting interpretation.  How does lovecraft describe Nyarlathotep?

"And it was then that Nyarlathotep came out of Egypt. Who he was, none could tell, but he was of the old native blood and looked like a Pharaoh."

This photo of Cthulhu is really well done. Not only an original arrangement but the old sepia look as well. My congratulations to the artist!

I came across this picture labeled simply Yog Sothoth by Jamie Tweddell.  I have to agree, it is a good likeness!

Lovecraft art in progress...

This art in progress on the deviant art web site is based on Lovecraft himself.  In its current state it's rather stark, I wonder if the final mood will be the same.

Yakth lizard?

There's an artist who's drawing every creature from Lovecraft's stories and posting them on a blog.  What an amazing task.  When I popped over for a look I was suprised to see creatures I've never heard of, such as the Yakith Lizard.  "Where was that mentioned?", I thought, so did a bit of research and couldn't find it in any of the texts I have.  Please post a comment if you know what story it appeared in.
